In Year School Admissions

The School Admissions Code requires local authorities to co-ordinate all applications for school places for all schools for children resident within their area.

Therefore if you are moving to the area or want to change your child’s school for some reason, you must complete the In Year Admissions form below and return to County Hall.

Nursery Admissions

You can place your child’s name on a waiting list for a Horndale Nursery at the beginning of the school year (1st September to 31st August) in which your child has his or her second birthday.

Parents and children are encouraged to visit the Nursery to register for admission, although details can be taken over the telephone. An application form NA1 is available from our website. On receipt of the application, you will receive form NA2 from us which confirms only that your details have been recorded. It does not guarantee that your child will be given a place or that a place can be provided to meet your particular preference.
Children are usually admitted to the Nursery in the September after they are three years of age.

The waiting list is held in the school office in date of birth order, therefore the oldest child on the list is offered the next available place. Offers of places for a September start are usually sent out to parents/carers the first week in May.
