Hello, I am Kelly-ann and I am a co-opted governor at Horndale as well as a community governor at a school in Darlington and a primary representative member on the Darlington Schools Forum. I was also, for several years, a director of a multi academy trust before it grew and joined a larger academy trust.

Across all of my roles I have a special interest in special educational needs and disability (SEND) after studying autism, Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health and British Sign Language Level 6.

I became a governor in my daughters school so that I was able to contribute to a better experience for my daughter and have a greater depth of knowledge in the processes, policies and processes within the school but have since moved into other areas to support a schools ability to provide an excellent quality of education.
